Testimonial Globe

A testimonial section built around a globe of images you can drag and spin, with frosted-glass quote cards floating over it. It drifts on its own, and on a phone it swaps to a lighter globe you swipe through.

One of 58 GSAP components in React, Vue and HTML.

The craft

How it's built.

The tricky part of a globe of images is spreading them evenly over the ball. Place them the obvious way and they bunch up at the top and bottom and leave gaps round the middle. So the planes are laid out on a spiral that winds around the sphere, which drops each one into its own patch of space - no clumps at the poles, no bald spots, every image with room to breathe as it turns.

It drifts slowly on its own and you can grab it and spin it faster - let go and it keeps going, easing down instead of stopping dead, so it feels like a real object with some weight. The testimonial cards sit over it as frosted glass so the globe stays alive and blurs through behind the words. That's why it's built in WebGL and not plain HTML - a sphere of moving, textured images kept smooth while you throw it around needs real rendering.

Past that it's yours. Drop in your own images and they fit whatever shape they are, put your own quotes on the cards, and set how fast it drifts and how much it carries after a throw. On a phone it swaps in a lighter globe and lets you swipe the cards, or you can turn the globe off and just stack them.
